Narrative Description of Project:

The Government of Bangladesh, with the financial assistance of the World bank has undertaken a project through Dhaka WASA to rehabilitate canals of Dhaka city and construction of storm water pumping stations to make the Dhaka city clean and free from inundation during heavy rain. Here KMC Ltd. worked as consultant for rehabilitation and canal dwellers (unauthorized occupants) were identified during socioeconomic survey and paid resettlement benefit as per policy of the resettlement action plan following DWASA and WB guideline.

Description of Actual Services Provided by your Staff:

- Developed survey tools

- Conducted census & socio-economic survey and inventory of losses

- Conducted consultation meetings

- Prepared sketch maps, household numbering and video filming

- Data entry and data generation

- Took photograph of the EPs and prepared ID cards

- Assisted DWASA in disbursement of compensation cheques

- Assist DWASA in implementation of the RAP
