Narrative Description of Project:

Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authorities (DWASA), with financial support from the World Bank has undertaken a project to improve the water supply, sewerage disposal, sanitation and storm water drainage facilities in Dhaka city under Dhaka Water Supply and Sanitation Project (DWSSP). This will involve rehabilitation of existing sewerage systems, storm water drains and natural retention reservoirs, and building new pumping stations. KMC worked as consultant and assigned to work for Preparation and Implementation of Resettlement Action Plan (RAP). A total of 2 RAPs were prepared and implemented by Dev Con-KMC JV. One for Rampura & Kamalapur pumping Station and other for Abdullahpur Khal.

Description of Actual Services Provided by your Staff:

- Developed survey tools

- Conducted socioeconomic survey using structured questionnaire and inventory of losses of the affected properties.

- Conducted consultation meetings, and Participatory Rapid Assessment,

- Prepared sketch maps and captured video film of the affected structures and other physical assets

- Data entry and generation through menu-driven software

 - Prepared Resettlement Action Plan (RAP).

 - Assist DWASA in implementation of the RAP including payment of compensation and relocation of the households and Redressed grievances as a member of the GRC.
