Detailed Narrative Description of Project:

The project involves conducting a feasibility study with a detailed design for the construction of dual-gauge/broad-gauge (DG/BG) railway lines parallel to the existing meter-gauge (MG) line and the conversion of the current MG line into DG/BG in the Santahar-Bogura-Kaunia-Lalmonirhat section, including the construction of a Santahar bypass. The study will assess the feasibility of double tracking or constructing new lines based on future demand for rolling stock and will include detailed design work. As part of the project, a comprehensive social assessment and resettlement plan will be integrated to address any social impacts related to the construction and land acquisition.

Detailed Description of Actual Services Provided by our Staff:

• Data collection on Socio-Economic Studies and the inventory of losses (IOL) surveys for preparation of Resettlement Plan (RP)
• Prepare indigenous People Plan (IPP)
• Develop Gender Action Plan (GAP) etc.
• Analysis and interpretation of the findings of Census and Socioeconomic Survey and Inventory of Losses (IOL) etc.
• Resettlement measures in accordance with the policy of the Government of Bangladesh and the ADB Safeguard Policy Statement (SPS) 2009
