Detailed Narrative Description of Project:
The project is recently undertaken by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) of GOB for Preparation of an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for Health and Gender Support Project for Cox’s Bazar district. It is a World Bank Funded Project. Here Knowledge Management Consultants (KMC) is engaged for preparing the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment report. Main Objective of the project is conduct a rapid review of the environmental and social issues and Identify potential areas of capacity building for country institutions for management of environmental and social issues.
Detailed Description of Actual Services Provided by our Staff:
- Conduct a rapid review of the environmental and social issues relating to HGSP in Cox’s Bazar district
- Prepare an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (both potentially positive and negative) in line with the ESF including mitigation measures and recommendations
- Identify applicable provisions of GoB and World Bank policies/acts/regulations/ESS for the project and recommend measures to fill gaps between the requirement of GoB and World Bank
- Identify potential areas of improvement/ capacity building for country institutions for management of environmental and social issues
- Identify various stakeholders and develop a Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP) and disclosure procedure for engagement and consultation with the same
- Provide inputs to the Borrower’s Environmental and Social Commitment Plan (ESCP)
