Detailed Narrative Description of Project:

Bangladesh Railway has recently undertaken the project of Feasibility study for Construction of overpass/underpass in Narayanganj–Joydebpur section of Bangladesh Railway. This project is to identify suitable location for constructing overpass/underpass, recommendations to upgrade the crossings also to find out whether the project is economically, socially and financially viable. Here KMC is working in JV with DPM Consultants Ltd. for Social assessment, preparation of Land acquisition plan (LAP) and Resettlement Action Plan (RAP.

Detailed Description of Actual Services Provided by your Staff:

- Census & socioeconomic survey of affected persons, households and communities

- Conduct traffic survey at all level crossing gates in Narayanganj-Joydebpur section 

- Focus group & consultation meetings

- Video filming of the traffic scenario during rain operation at all level of crossing

- Social impact assessment of implementation of the project

- Data generation, report preparation
