Detailed Narrative Description of Project:

The Project is implemented as part of the Moheshkhali Matarbari Integrated Development Initiative (MIDI), aiming at enhancing water supply condition for both domestic and industrial use by utilizing the surface water of the Matamuhuri river' It entails construction of water intake station, a conveyance pipeline, a treatment plant, and reservoir (regulation pond). Additionally, six distribution reservoirs will be constructed. The Project plans to utilize the public land, i.e., for the conveyance pipeline, Chattogram-Cox's Bazar bypass and Matarbari Access Road will be utilized while for the regulation pond, land belongs to Cox's Bazar District will be utilized. Public land for the construction of the six distribution reservoirs is yet to be confirmed. For that part and part of the intake station, acquisition of private land may occur. initial assessment of the Project indicated that there are land tenants in the area proposed for the regulation pond who are using the land for economic purposes.
